Working for the world leader in on-line information
provision as a web solutions consultant in the EMEA/AP enterprise
solutions team, my job incorporated various roles:
· Development of customised web-based
information solutions for intranet/extranet sites, predominantly
using HTML, JavaScript, CSS and XML.
· Project Management, involving liasing with all parties
to ensure the solutions were delivered on time and to specification.
· Attending client meetings with sales reps in a technical
consultant role.
· Co-ordinating solution projects with global counterparts.
· Providing pre and post sales technical support to clients
and sales staff across the EMEA/AP region.
· Development and on-going maintenance of Dialog Internet
and Intranet sites and servers.
· Working extensively with various product managers and development
teams to test and assess new software releases prior to product
launches.

and client trials.
· Clients worked with include GSK, Roche, Merrill Lynch,

Sept 2000 – Feb 2003 Network Support
Analyst
Dialog – A Thomson Company
Working as a member of the network support team, in my previous
role at Dialog I provided internal technical support for a network
of approximately 200 users. The role incorporated many forms of
support including PC and server hardware issues and software support
for both office and dialog products. I was responsible for specifying,
purchasing and installing new hardware throughout the office. I
also administered the Novell and NT networks operating within the
organisation along with basic email administration. In addition
to the day-to-day support of the office users I was also involved
in various project work including coordination of a worldwide software
rollout, Upgrading and improving the training technology, and the
implementation of a new remote access solution.

July 1998 – July 1999 Senior
Systems Support Analyst
CBS, A division of Great Universal Shopping Working
in the Retail Service Centre my role involved providing helpdesk
support for the EPOS and back office equipment in over 60 shops
and also desktop support for approximately 50 users. I took an active
roll in the installation and testing of EPOS equipment in new shops
and was also responsible for the head office systems in terms of
credit card authorisations and polling. The desktop part of my role
comprised supporting the office network and its users, this included
general application queries from colleagues, rectifying hardware
issues and PC and software installations.

Analyst (Industrial Placement)
Information Systems Group – Whitbread PLC Based
in the Systems Support Center, I undertook a 12-month Industrial
placement as part of my degree. My role was to provide IT support
to the various divisions of the company. I specialised in the Beefeater
Division and provided 1st line support for the EPOS and back office
systems in over 300 Beefeater Restaurants. |
